Wright & Talisman, P.C. Volunteer Shift at DC Central Kitchen

On Thursday, November 13, 2025, Wright & Talisman attorneys, staff, alumni, and friends volunteered at DC Central Kitchen (DCCK) again for an evening of food preparation. Continuing our commitment and support to community service, we packed three-course meals for local residents in need and prepped vegetables for future DCCK meal services. These meals are delivered throughout the week through DoorDash’s Project DASH initiative. Project DASH partners with nonprofits, like DCCK, to close the last-mile gap by delivering nutritious meals directly to homebound seniors and veterans facing food insecurity.

As DCCK combats hunger and poverty in the District of Columbia through job training, job creation, and expanding access to healthy food, the organization has stepped up and advanced its efforts this month to meet rising community needs. Throughout November, DCCK is increasing meal production for front-line partners experiencing major spikes in demand, activating its mobile meals truck to reach neighborhoods where support is needed most, and expanding distribution to 14 locations across the city. DCCK is also boosting grocery and staple goods distribution through mutual aid partners, supporting additional school food pantries, and preparing to provide record-level Thanksgiving meals, groceries, and turkeys to nearly 37,000 people. This is in addition to maintaining Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Match benefits across 34 Healthy Corners stores to continue helping low-income customers’ access to affordable, nutritious produce.
