Mr. Thompson represents interstate natural gas pipelines, other natural gas industry clients and the firm's electric utility clients in an array of regulatory and commercial matters. His experience includes:

• managing, litigating and negotiating settlements of all types of rate, rulemaking and complaint proceedings before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) and state public utilities commissions, as well as related appellate proceedings;
• negotiating agreements for the development or transfer of energy infrastructure assets, including natural gas- and coal-fired electric generating plants and natural gas pipelines;
• developing ISO/RTO tariffs and contracts for the interconnection of generation and merchant transmission facilities, including managing related regional stakeholder processes and advising on associated aspects of regional transmission planning and market rules;
• litigating market power and other competition-related issues in a variety of regulatory settings; and
• assisting with management of pre-construction environmental review and permitting for gas and oil pipeline projects.

Mr. Thompson joined Wright & Talisman, P.C. in 1985 and has been a shareholder of the firm since 1988.

EDUCATION
Mr. Thompson earned his J.D., with honors, from The George Washington University National Law Center in 1981. He was awarded a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration, cum laude, from The Ohio State University in 1977.
